2020 Electorate Application
How to become a voter in the 2020 Special Election:
The following are the ways you can be considered eligible to vote:
Option 1- Automatic Qualification

- SDI Minister in Good Standing
- Active International Khalsa Council Member

Option 2 – Qualification by Application (must meet all 3 requirements listed below to apply):
- Is currently and has been living and practicing the Sikh lifestyle according to the teachings of Siri Singh Sahib Bhai Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogiji for at least 7 consecutive years, and
- Is currently and has been an active member of the Sikh Dharma/3HO community for at least 7 consecutive years, and
- Is not currently, nor has ever been involved in any activities, organizations or communications that harm, threaten, misrepresent or are adverse to the mission of the Siri Singh Sahib, his teachings or his legacy organizations
For Ministers and Khalsa Council Members:
During the application period, you will be asked to provide recommendations from community members who are interested in joining the electorate. Please review the candidate requirements. If the the potential voter meets the requirements, you may write a recommendation letter.
Note: you must be a Minister in Good Standing or an active Khalsa Council member to be able to recommend someone to the electorate body. Letters of recommendation cannot be written by relatives.

- Download recommendation template here.
- Fill out recommendation letter and sign it.
- Send filled out and signed recommendation TO THE CANDIDATE in a PDF format.
- Candidate will then upload your recommendation when they fill out their application form online.
Option 2: Joining the Electorate Application Process
If you meet the qualifications specified under option 2 and would like to apply to be part of the Electorate Body for the 2020 Special Elections these are the steps to follow:
- Get 3 letters of recommendation from Ministers or Khalsa Council members in Good Standing/Active. You will need these before starting the online application. Note: Letters of recommendation cannot be written by relatives. To view active Khalsa Council members and Ministers in good standing click here.
- Complete the online application. This application will be available on this page starting October 1, 2020. Application period has been extended and ends on November 15, 2020 by 8pm EST/6pm MST/5pm PST.
- After the packet is submitted it will be sent to the SDI Secretary General as well as the Office of Dharmic Counsel for review.
- Once vetted, the application will be sent to the Khalsa Council Executive Committee for approval.
- The Khalsa Council Executive Committee will review and make a decision on your eligibility. The Election team will reach out to you to let you know of your approval status.
- If approved, you will then receive a voter ID the day voting beings.
